lang=\"NL\"><strong>August 24:<\/strong> I came <strong>involuntary<\/strong> in the free <strong>chic 'Hotel de la Poste<\/strong>' justified because renting a full dormitory in the Youth Hostel (because of Covid) came out 40 euros more expensive than a single room in the hotel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"NL\">Hanging in the lobby was a full-page article from 1987 about the hotel's remarkable history.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"NL\">Then in the <strong>1970s<\/strong> with the rise of mass tourism to the south the <strong>Ardennes tourism fell silent<\/strong>, it went <strong>hotel completely lost.<\/strong> It stood for sale or rent for years, until <strong>In the late 1970s, a Dutchman<\/strong> fell in love with it and took the risk of making one <strong>renovation loan<\/strong> for it. After five difficult years, he got the <strong>stately hotel back profitable.<\/strong> The rooms and corridors are back to their original state: <strong>creaking parquet floors<\/strong> with a thick <strong>fitted carpet<\/strong> About it. Pure nostalgia.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"NL\">Apart from the exclusive friends of the local nobility who came to hunt in the Ardennes at the time, famous guests staying there were\u00a0<\/span><strong><span lang=\"NL\">Victor Hugo<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"NL\">,\u00a0<\/span><strong><span lang=\"NL\">Emile Zola<\/span><\/strong><span lang=\"NL\"> and <strong>Emperor Napoleon III<\/strong>, the latter admittedly as a prisoner of war in 1870.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element
