class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En <strong>De 1850 a 1865<\/strong>justo despu\u00e9s de la hambruna de la patata, una mina fue explotada en Connemara por un <strong>O'Flahertie<\/strong>El gran propietario de Connemara pose\u00eda m\u00e1s de 4.000 acres (aproximadamente 1.600 hect\u00e1reas) de tierra. Uno de sus granjeros ten\u00eda un <strong>piedra especial muy pesada<\/strong> encontrado, lo hizo analizar en Swansea y result\u00f3 ser <strong>galena<\/strong> ser, una mezcla de casi todo. <strong>plomo y plata<\/strong>. La demanda de plomo era entonces muy alta -y el precio correspondientemente alto- a causa de la Guerra Civil Americana y la Guerra de Crimea, en las que se disparaban balas de plomo. O'Flahertie oli\u00f3 el dinero y decidi\u00f3 abrir una mina.<br \/>Tras la hambruna, la gente estaba desesperada y dispuesta a aceptar cualquier trabajo. El rico O'Flahertie pagaba a sus mineros <strong>3ct - el equivalente a 15\u20ac ahora - por cubo de mineral de galena<\/strong>. Los mineros ten\u00edan que pagarse sus propios martillos y hachas.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1nta sangre, sudor y l\u00e1grimas (y vidas) cost\u00f3 un cubo de mineral?<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Golpear con un cincel en la pared rocosa requer\u00eda\u00a0<strong>cuatro horas de trabajo con tres mineros<\/strong>Uno sujetaba el cincel y le daba media vuelta despu\u00e9s de cada golpe de martillo. Los otros dos se turnaban para golpear el cincel con sus martillos. En algunas fotos, esos\u00a0<strong>marcas de hacha<\/strong>\u00a0para ser visto. De esta manera, <strong>tres agujeros para remaches<\/strong> realizados uno al lado del otro, por un total de <strong>12 horas de trabajo<\/strong>. Para terminar la jornada laboral de 12 horas, el hachero met\u00eda dinamita en los agujeros, encend\u00eda la mecha y luego ten\u00eda que subir r\u00e1pidamente a un \"agujero seguro\" para salvar el pellejo. Los estampidos de esas explosiones hac\u00edan que el <strong>mineros medio sordos.<\/strong><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En los pasillos inferiores de la mina, los trabajadores estaban permanentemente <strong>Hasta las rodillas en el agua.<\/strong> Como \u00fanica iluminaci\u00f3n, llevaban una vela en el casco que ard\u00eda en grasa animal podrida y emit\u00eda un humo maloliente. La mayor\u00eda <strong>mineros murieron a los 40<\/strong> debido a la inhalaci\u00f3n de <strong>humos t\u00f3xicos<\/strong>.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O'Flahertie s\u00f3lo pagaba por la galena. Por otros minerales que se sacaron, incluyendo cuarzo, m\u00e1rmol, ironpirita, fluorita, barita, pag\u00f3 nada....<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cuando el precio del plomo se desplom\u00f3 tras el final de esas dos guerras, <strong>O'Flahertie cerr\u00f3 la mina<\/strong>...se le ech\u00f3 todo el polvo de piedra y... <strong>los inund\u00f3<\/strong> para que nadie pudiera extraer y monetizar roca de ella... Por eso todos los materiales expuestos est\u00e1n tan oxidados. Para hacer la mina accesible al p\u00fablico, primero hubo que vaciarla por completo y bombearla de nuevo.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element
