Kiln pr\u00e8s de Shawbost<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7d372af elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7d372af\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Juste \u00e0 l'ouest de <strong>Shawbost<\/strong> sont deux\u00a0<strong>b\u00e2timents du moulin ovale<\/strong>\u00a0avec un toit de chaume : un moulin et un four qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9s pendant la p\u00e9riode de la <strong>\u00c2ge du fer<\/strong> ont \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9s pour le s\u00e9chage et la mouture de l'orge en farine.\u00a0<strong>Le ma\u00efs et l'orge \u00e9taient les principales cultures<\/strong> sur Lewis. Le moulin \u00e9tait aliment\u00e9 par une rivi\u00e8re provenant du Loch Roinavat voisin.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le\u00a0<strong>m\u00e9canisme de broyage<\/strong>\u00a0est fascinante : elle a <strong>pas de roue \u00e0 aubes<\/strong> comme dans les moulins \u00e0 eau plus modernes, mais une <strong>roue du moulin<\/strong>. Celle-ci se trouvait dans une chambre basse et \u00e9tait reli\u00e9e, par un arbre d'entra\u00eenement vertical, \u00e0 une meule situ\u00e9e au-dessus d'elle. Le petit b\u00e2timent n'\u00e9tait pas \u00e9clair\u00e9 ; les photographies ont d\u00fb se contenter de la lumi\u00e8re provenant de la porte ouverte.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dans les \u00eeles H\u00e9brides, il y avait <strong>vers 1840, des centaines d'autres moulins similaires<\/strong> Le moulin de Shawbost est aujourd'hui le seul exemple encore op\u00e9rationnel de ce type de moulin traditionnel dans les H\u00e9brides.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La restauration du complexe a \u00e9t\u00e9 achev\u00e9e par <strong>La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Norske Mill.<\/strong> Les Norv\u00e9giens auraient \u00e9galement s\u00e9journ\u00e9 aux H\u00e9brides et y auraient laiss\u00e9 leur empreinte.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div
