On 25 August, I took a rust day in Bouillon. I wanted to visit about three sights in the city, but this intention was thwarted by a three-hour patience exercise to reactivate my failed Scarlet e-mail account on my mobile phone. As a result, only a visit to the iconic fortified castle of Godfrey of Bouillon over, because at 5pm I had to be at the osteopath and that was a 40-minute walk.
The raptor demonstration in the castle courtyard by a falconer from Berchem (my current hometown!) was spectacular, as can be seen in some photos. He showed two buzzards, a white barn owl, a large eagle owl, a American vulture and an American bald eagle flying freely across the courtyard and over the heads of the audience.
One by one impressive birds for which you momentarily hold your breath as they skim over your head.
