Cycling for Bubaque 2018: luxury night and day in Oslo

Boottocht Kopenhagen-Oslo

16-17 June: Luxury ferry crossing from Copenhagen to Oslo,

Saturday, 16 June, I gave myself a once-over proper pamperingd, after several weeks of tent camping. I booked the night boat to Oslo, obliged with cabin - And that wasn't all. I also signed up for the lavish dinner buffet. What a difference from the paltry one-pot meals on my Campingaz fire. Too little one day, far too much the next. Too bad I couldn't spread that amount of deliciousness over several days.

Disembarkation in Oslo

The boat arrived 's mornings in Oslo so I could hang out in the city for another day. The port is right next to the beautiful, nail-white opera house, so that's where I headed first for a walk on the sloping roof.

From the opera I walked, bike in hand, to the Astrup Fearnley museum for contemporary art. I was lucky. It had just been a free family day there. The museum offered a collection contemporary works which pleased me a lot.

Then it was quiet time to look for a campsite. I found one on a fairly steep hill some way out of town. Price for one night tent camping: 30€!!!
