December 10, '23: Embalse de Buseo hike (13 km)
Nice and for 90% easy trip around the Buseo reservoir over wide gravel paths. The devil was in the last 5 km from the dam to the village Chera: a climb along a steep rocky path from the reservoir to a path above the roadway, a difference in altitude of about 100 metres, I estimate. Then it continued through olive groves towards Chera.
There I met Antonio and his wife. They went to find and split firewood with a heavy hammer. It turned out they had also travelled all over Europe in their Mercedes Vito van. They gave me some tips on pretty villages nearby, but when we looked at the map it turned out we had already passed them. It will be for next time...
We spent the night in Chera in an unpaved square on the outskirts of the village.
